In the aftermath of the crisis at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, anti-nuclear sentiment seemed to be on the rise. Germany, Italy and Switzerland folded nuclear plans, while China pledged to reevaluate its safety standards and Thailand vowed to find an alternative. But, a year later, nuclear power seems to be resurging. Globally, there are still 60 nuclear reactors under construction and 163 more have been ordered or planned, reports the World Nuclear Association.
